This site creates a serious seasonal barrier to much needed health care and limits access to markets and farm land for the local residents. An estimated 100-150 students and 300-400 other villagers would use this crossing daily during monsoon season. The villagers of Barrey VDC expressed great interest and enthusiasm at the prospect of installing a TarPul at Gainde. They reported 30-40 injuries and one to two deaths every year due to unsafe crossing conditions at this site, illustrating the urgent need for a safe means of transport at the Gainde location. |

An estimated 40-50 students and 50-60 other villagers would use this crossing daily for at least three months of the year. The residents of Lekh Gaun VDC reported 2 to 4 deaths, in addition to 20-25 injuries per year due to unsafe river crossing, indicating the urgent need at this site for safe transportation development. |

| 6. Site: Crossing the Sunkoshi Khola between Rajapani VDC of Khotang and and Balamta VDC of Udayapur 139m, 4 wire system The Sunkoshi Khola is one of Nepal's major waterways. It is impossible to cross year round and creates a significant barrier to access to school, markets, and healthcare in this area. An estimated 150-200 villagers would use this crossing daily throughout the entire year. The nearest alternate crossing from the Godelighat site is 5 hours by foot, making safe transport across this river extremely difficult for the people of this region. |

An estimated 10 to 15 students and 25 other villagers would use this crossing daily during the monsoon season. The residents of this area were excited about the prospect of installing a TarPul at Chhatang. They were eager and helpful during the survey, and look forward to the possibility of safe, year-round travel from their villages. |

There is no alternative crossing near the Himagaun site, making safe travel during the monsoon months nearly impossible for these people. The residents of this area are excited about the prospect of installing a TarPul at Himagaun. They were eager and helpful during the survey of the site, and look forward to the installation of a wire bridge. |

The villagers of Bhuttar VDC expressed great interest and enthusiasm at the prospect of installing a TarPul at Kharikhola. They reported 10-15 crossing-related injuries every year due to unsafe conditions at this site, illustrating the urgent need for a safe means of transport at the Kharikhola location. |

The Routa Phedi site lies on the main trail between Murkuchi and Khotang. A bridge at this site would benefit people from the entire district. An estimated 20-30 students and 200-250 other villagers would use this crossing daily during the monsoon season. |

These statistics illustrate the urgent need for a safe means of transport at the Kakaru Khola location. |

2 wire system is near to the Gaighat Bajor. It takes about a 45 minute walk from Bajor. There is a road (Gaighat-Diktel Road) which goes through Basudhor near the Chapan river. Its about a 10 minute walk from the road. |
