This bridge crosses a side stream which feeds the rushing Kali Gandaki. For many months of the year, the Ghate River is a practically dry river bed with a school on one side. During the monsoon, however, it often flash floods, creating a difficult and dangerous passage for the residents of the area. The TarPul at Dana provides access to schools, markets, and health posts for the villagers of Dana VDC.

Update: The Dana TarPul was damaged in the monsoon season of 2003. The community have not requested a replacement bridge due to tensions that arose surrounding the crossing.
