Gothdanda is on the Sand Khola. This is a monsoon stream, typical of the foothills, which creates a serious seasonal barrier to normal access to school, health care, and markets. The nearest crossing to the Gothdanda TarPul is 1.5 hours away. About 10 students and 40 other villagers use each crossing daily.
