Bridge Financers

Anyone wishing to assist the rural people of Nepal can help finance a WireBridge. In the past, villagers have received financial assistance from foreign embassies, NGOs and other non profit organizations, and even from individual donors looking to make a difference.

One Belgian couple asked for monetary rather than material gifts at their wedding. They used the money they raised to build a bridge.

A Belgian man built a bridge for school children in Udayapur in memory of his late wife.

In Lamjung, eight bridges shorten the distance to health and school facilities through the generosity of the German embassy, a Belgian children's NGO (Fonds Parvati), an American bridge-building NGO (Bridges to Prosperity), and a group of Washington environmentalists.

In Kavre, three bridges were financed by the friends of Nepal School Projects (Canada) with labor donated by local communities.

The Kadoorie Agricultural Aid Association funded a very difficult bridge that improves access to an otherwise extremely remote Gorkha community.

In 2003 EcoSystems won The Accenture Economic Development Award in the TechAwards from San Jose’s TechMuseum, California. The award to EcoSystems for its bridge work provided exceptionally valuable assistance to permit continuation of the R&D effort (despite a long suspension of sales due to the revolution).
